This panel discussion connected art, spirituality and mental wellbeing through the exploration of the mind. Panellists included Sikh artist Kanwar Singh, ex Vogue/Dazed creative and the curator of Journey of the Mind Deep Kailey, along with a local Birmingham artist & educator Navi Kaur.

A guided tour of Journey of the Mind, an exhibition by WSWF, at the Library of Birmingham, and Dreamworld, an exhibition by artist Mit Jai Inn, at Ikon Gallery.

The tour was led by the exhibition curators, Deep Kailey (Without Shape Without Form) and Melanie Pocock (Ikon Gallery), who discussed artistic styles from an intercommunal and interfaith lens, addressing ideas of the mind and spirituality.

An interactive talk attended by working professionals.

The talk considered the way that negative forces capture our mind and hold us back in life, preventing us from finding true happiness. Attendees walked away with an understanding of how we can challenge these vices in order to obtain internal peace.

A fun stimulating afternoon with people and their loved ones. We saw the youth and young adults bring their parents and grandparent to this Punjabi-speaking event!

A carefully focused afternoon for seniors that nourished their passion about Sikh History.

The experience started with a guided tour (in punjabi) of the Journey of the Mind exhibition.

Then visitors relaxed and engaged in a focused reading and discussion of historical Sikh events that encouraged them to think about the internal journey of their own mind.

Younger children joined us for a fun-filled creative afternoon of exciting activities to discover more of the positive aspects of the mind.

They engaged in their artistic side in creating a giant tapestry, make gifts for children at Birmingham Children's Hospital!, relaxed to a calming storytelling session and a lot more.

The UK’s first women's street football tournament, raising awareness about mental health in a post Covid era through the power of the game. There was amazing street food, live entertainment and special guests.

In partnership with The Last Stand, we talked about the importance of mental wellness with Tyrone Mings, captain of Aston Villa & England international.

Based on visitor requests at the Journey of the Mind exhibition, we added a number of Simran Workshops to our programme of events.

We were joined by many for these special workshops on learning how to do Simran - a focused practice for the mind.

University students from all over the midlands joined us at Birmingham City University for an engaging exploration of the ways we try to seek happiness from external means and build our identity upon this.

Students walked away with best practices on how we can focus on our internal happiness, and reduce the anxiety, stress and pressure that we put on our minds.
