What does being mind-strong mean to you?
The first thing I think about is resilience. How do you cope with challenges and setbacks?
Resilience takes time to build, and you have to be willing to put yourself in uncomfortable situations repeatedly, knowing that failure is part of the process.
Not getting too high when things are going well isn’t that different from not getting too low when things don’t go as planned. Building perspective and being able to see the bigger picture can help a lot. Learning to be more aware of your emotions and how to manage them can have a significant impact.
Never lying or never gossiping again?
Neither is healthy, but lying is far worse than gossiping in my eyes. Lying leads to more lying and is a destructive path to follow.
What have you discovered about yourself in the last year?
Having a young family can be incredibly rewarding as well as tiring at the same time!
In the last year or so, I’ve spoken to quite a few people with grown-up children who regret not spending enough time with their families when their children were younger. I’m not sure if this revelation surprised me, but I certainly have a newfound appreciation for it.
If your thoughts made noises, what would they be?
My mind is fairly busy most days, as there’s plenty to do and plenty going on.
I quite like the sound of drums, so plenty of loud drumming and cymbals would represent my thoughts well!
What change would you want the world to focus on?
ITaking greater care of nature and the environment and learning to live in a more sustainable way.
